Human Brain: So Tiny, Yet So Powerful!

This picture is amazing! It manages to present something very complex in a very simple manner: unanimity of components of our brain, even when it's in resting/sleeping mode.

Last year, I spent ~ 9-10 hrs/day for 6 weeks learning nuts and bolts of the human brain and their functions. It might sound very intense and it was, but at the same time it was the only course that I didn't mind spending that much time studying for. Brain fascinates me: has in the past and I am sure it will in the future as well.
I am always in awe of it!
It is so tiny, yet so powerful!

Before I leave you'll, here's another one of those very simplistic representations of very complex human brain.

"The only real elegance is in the mind; if you’ve got that, the rest really comes from it." — Diana Vreeland

I survived...well sort-of... the first quarter of medical school! Whew, that was something ...
I started really strong, but can't say the same about the end. :(
However, I do think I have figured out a study style that works for me and now I just gotta stick to it!

For the meantime, I am on vacation ... yes, you heard it right ... vacation! :)
I have a week to be lazy, sleep-in, read blogs, read books (non-academic of course :p), run ... yep, I am one of those who consider running a FUN activity ... and may be make few more posts.. may be. :p

Well, here is an outfit I wore not-so-long ago.

Best thing about this outfit are the precious gems that I found in my local antique/thrift stores:
Square Scarf ($4) and Tweed Jacket ($7) by Talbot!
I am really digging thrift shoppin' and have not bought anything (for myself) from a department store or for full price for last 5 or so months.
I think I am allowed to call myself a proud thrifter now! Won't ya agree?

Got My White Coat On!

The reward for work well done is the opportunity to do more.
--Jonas Salk, MD

August 10th 2012 marked the beginning of a very demanding but rewarding journey for me. I am officially a medical student and a step closer to achieving my dream of becoming a successful physician!! :)

Here's to lifelong learning ...

Dress: old from F21 (alt)
White Coat: courtesy of my awesome medical school :p

After a long year and a half of sentencing, it was time for this dress to see the sunlight! :) Oh and these heals, I got them for mere $20.00 (vs $90.00) from Hautelook .. *smug face*
Sharing it with the one I know will always have my back, my ah-mazing padre! :)

Until next time ...
